😂 No, I wasn’t a cab driver. The Checker cabs had long been phased out, but when I was a kid, I still used to see them around and always wanted to ride in one. Never got the opportunity. Plus, they were built in Kalamazoo, Michigan. So, my sister got that one for me. My wife’s first ride she bought out of school was a new 2011 Jeep, so she got me the 86 Renegade. I was hoping for a Willys mail Jeep, but I like the Renegade, too.

One of our modes of transportation on our wedding day was a 1955 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud, which was used to take us to our reception, so she also got that one for me. The rest were ones I either asked for or had an emotional breakdown at the autorama while drooling over them. The autorama is different from the auto show. It’s actually better. Picture a classic car auto show. It just doesn’t get any better than that.

A USPS Jeep? LOL! I need to see these. Why the fascination over some that no one should be fascinated by? Was the Rolls Royce an actual replica of the car y’all rode to the reception in?

I didn't know checker cabs were made in Kzoo. That's where my son lives now and the general area where I'm looking to move this summer.

Yeah, the Rolls is a replica of the same car we used. And those Jeeps? C’mon, man. They’re mail-delivering superheroes. Admit it, you’re intrigued now.

Model by The Franklin Mint

Real car. This one is a 1960. Ours was a 55, but they look the same.

Danbury Mint U.S. Mail Jeep. On my must have list.

Yeah, I wasn’t aware of that either, not until I read the paperwork that came with the model.

I believed you when you said they had mad detail, but damn, that’s a lot. I’m assuming the USPS Jeep comes with the mail bags? Does the Rolls Royce come with the couple and champagne like in the video?

Yeah heard. I have too many hobbies as it is, so I just rotate what I focus on. Or sometimes its based on what's easiest to do, or if it's my outside hobbies if the weather is nice. There was a bunch of model reveals yesterday at the Las Vegas Open event, and it's re-ignited my fire for painting and playing.

The Jeep does come with the bags. The Rolls Royce does not come with the couple, but it does come with the roses, champagne bottle and glasses. The guy in the video who owns that one probably bought the couple separately.

Yeah, the detail is incredible, all the way down to the working suspension, removable spare, carpet interiors, actual real leather seats on some, etc. They’re so heavy, that each month, I have to roll them a little back and forth in their cases, otherwise they’ll get flat spots on the tires.

😂 Nice! I hear you, I’m like that too. If I buy an Octane magazine, and it’s covering the real car of a model I have, I’ll pull the model out of its slot/case, and look at it as I read about it. I would like to find where more local model car meetups are. I’m a member of the MGCC (MG Car Club), here and I enjoy it so much, that it’s opened my eyes to doing a search on model car and diorama interests and enthusiasts.

Absolutely not! Watching a convicted felon take an oath he has no intention of honoring is as pointless as expecting integrity from a career fraud.

Actually, to be honest with you, I’m done with both sides. The Democrats and our so-called “justice” system, including the Supreme Court, have turned Trump’s antics into the new normal by refusing to do anything meaningful about it. And then there’s Obama, cozying up to Trump at Carter’s funeral like they’re old college roommates. And let’s not forget Trump’s laughable “assassination attempt”, a joke that Biden and Harris knew was fake but are conveniently sweeping under the rug. It’s like they’re all in on the same bad joke, and we’re supposed to pretend it’s leadership. It’s like watching a bad reality show where everyone’s pretending the villain isn’t the villain, and frankly, I’d rather cancel my subscription to all of it. I am SO done with it.

I’m beginning to look at it from that perspective too. It looked rather spineless on Barack Obama’s part. Did you hear Harris declined to invite Vance to a courtesy visit to the vice president’s residence before the inauguration? I think that’s a tradition.

If they really wanted to make a statement to the country, no former presidents should show up to Trump’s inauguration. The fact they’re going makes them part of the lie when he takes the oath of office.

Yep. The fact that former presidents are attending is bad enough, because like you said, they’re legitimizing someone who’s turned the oath of office into a total joke. Like.. seriously! But Biden and Harris showing up is even worse, to me. They should know better than to dignify this shit show with their presence. Honestly? Their absence would speak volumes, but instead, they’re opting to uphold what’s about to be a meaningless tradition over making a principled stand. It’s a disappointing display of spinelessness across the board if you ask me.

And honestly? It’s just another reminder that humans never seem to learn from past mistakes. History has shown us time and again where this kind of complicity leads, yet here we are, once again, pretending like this time will be different.

I was raised by my parents to always believe in letting my yes mean yes and my no mean no, because it’s the foundation of integrity. To do otherwise is spineless and undermines trust. It’s just so frustrating to see so many people, especially those in leadership, abandoning that principle for the sake of appearances and tradition.

I swear, watching Obama grin and laugh with Trump is like watching a firefighter roast marshmallows over a house fire — completely insane and not the vibe anyone asked for.

ETA: No, I didn’t know that about Harris and Vance. Does it matter?

"...we owe (Trump) an open mind and a chance to lead..."

I remember so clearly those words spoken during Hillary Clinton's 2016 concession speech, and still think of them whenever and wherever (he) shows up in the world. But, oh, how often my thoughts about (him) turn out
