Hope thing have been well for everyone here. Some updates from me is that this year I 1) Got married (ci dvil only, wedding is planned for 09/2025 in my hometown) and 2) I moved to Japan 9 months ago. I know they're big updates/life events but they're normal enough that it feels like a birthday. You may turn 40 but you feel like you're 39 still for a few months.
Welcome back, XAnt! Thank you for your brief life update. Hope all is generously peaceful and good for you & yours over on the opposite side of the world.

I reread some of your old performance band threads; it's a shame you never met-up IRL with any other GC members despite posting your schedule.

You almost garnered a mention from me in GC's latest "Remember When?" thread, until I realized Phroze likely knew of you being on GC per his join date.

Ohhhh yes! He loves my culture. He’s learned so much. His first “Opa experience” was at our engagement party. That to this day is by far the most hilarious reaction to anything I’ve ever seen from him, ever. He had no clue what was happening. My mom was mad at me for not telling him, but I wanted a really good laugh. He’s got a reserved personality, so that alone made it hysterically funny!

When we were handed a stack of plates, I’m like… “Ready?” He looks at me and goes… “Are we handing these out?” while he started walking toward a table to hand them out. I grabbed his arm pulling him back to me, and I’m like, no, we’re going to break them (laughing). He was like “Break them? Like… on purpose? Why? Is that legal?” After I smashed mine, the look on his face was completely priceless. He looks around the room like the cops were going to come in. He barely tapped a plate on the floor, and then my uncle saved him by yelling “OPAAAA!” but I was already doubled over laughing so hard.

I think about that now and laugh like it was yesterday, lol.

Lmao! I’m weak! You didn’t tell him? That was wrong on every level to do that man like that Lol! I looked up that religion and it’s damn near 2000 years old. He must’ve been doing something right for you to leave a religion that old so y’all could be together. That’s a lot of love right there, CG Lol.

I’d be afraid of getting cut, breaking plates.

Merry Christmas to you and yours, Phroze. I did. Not only did I get one pink Cadillac, but TWO.

Technically, the person who isn’t a member of the Greek Orthodox Church or refuses to convert can still marry in the Church, but isn’t allowed to participate in certain sacraments. The couple also has to agree to baptize and raise their children Orthodox. I was raised on Christian principles that baptism is a deeply personal and spiritual decision that should be made by someone who is old enough to understand its significance. God gives us all free will, and accepting Christ and being baptized in the name of The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit is a choice that should come from a willing and understanding heart, not one made for us as an infant.

Lol! Two? What happened, two different people got you the same gift, not knowing somebody got you the same thing?

I agree 100% with the second half of the second part of your post. I know nothing about the first half to form an opinion. Sounds ridiculous though.

Yes! It’s one of the oldest Christian faiths and I’ll always respect it. But for me, faith is about a personal relationship with God, while being united as a family. I mean, it definitely took love, and a lot of prayer to make that decision, but honestly, it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Nah, the plates are made to easily break, and now they’re like plaster so they break without creating sharp edges. They’re just made up to look like ceramic plates. It wasn’t always like that, though.

Well, to be honest I didn't think anyone would actually take me up on it. I did it on the off-chance someone was in the area and would have enjoyed it.

I'll try to remember to log on here more often, but to be honest most of my social media consumption has moved away from message boards and onto other platforms like Discord, IG, and X. With how much faster our social interactions can be (and have become), message boards can feel terribly inefficient.

Sure, social media’s fast, but message boards are like a cozy campfire — like real conversations, not just noise. You can actually think before you post, revisit threads without scrolling forever, and build something that lasts. We miss your voice around here, especially how most of your responses were with gifs, and they were hilarious! Come back and remind us what real talk looks like, Xant. We promise not to tease you for typing slow… much.

Okay, so….. no one, except for my kids wanted Christmas dinner leftovers from last night, so we decided to order a pizza. The pizza guy rings the doorbell, I answered the door wearing an MSU sweatshirt and plain shorts — nothing crazy — just normal lounge around the house sweatshirt and shorts. And the pizza guy, “Kyle” immediately locked onto my legs like he’d never seen knees before. I gave him his tip, and he just kept staring, like I was the main course and the pizza was the side dish.

And honestly, based on the way he was looking at me, I wouldn’t be surprised if he got back in his car to have a moment — probably next to someone else’s pizza in the passenger seat, just sitting there like.. “I did not sign up for this.”

And then like… his fingernails looked like he’d been digging through potting soil. I mean, if I wanted extra toppings, I’d have asked for them. I seriously don’t need a side of “Kyle’s” DNA baked into my crust.

I didn’t eat it. My mom and my hubby are eating it (so gross), but I made myself a salad, instead.

Hahahahahahahahahaha I can’t BREATHE! LMFAO! I gotta translate this since CG wants to be all proper.

Translation: Kyle peeped CG’s legs, liked what he saw, took the tip CG gave him, gave CG the pizza, then proceeded back to his car to jack off, with dude down the street’s pizza next to him.

ROTFLMFAO! I haven’t laughed this hard on greekchat in 12 years! LMAO!

How’d you know his name was Kyle?

Because you can track what’s happening with your pizza through the online pizza tracker. It’ll show like the person’s first name of who’s making your pizza, baking it, “quality checking” it, and who’s on their way with it to your house. I mean, he was out there in his car for a while, before he pulled off. I’ve never seen a pizza guy do that before. So I’m like “What is he doing? Why is just sitting there?” When he kept looking at my legs, I looked down, too, thinking he saw something on the floor? — because I at first didn’t know why he was doing that.

You guys are so gross.

Yeah CG, dude was definitely in his car playing five-finger roulette LOL!!!. I’ll bet the next time you order a pizza, you won’t answer the door wearing shorts or anything exposing your legs LMAO!

Y’all, I’m WEAK! My stomach is on fire and my head hurts from laughing. Damn, CG you almost killed me tonight Lol!

If dying laughing is really a thing, I almost died tonight.
