I would call the Greek Life office and ask them which sororities are doing COB. If there is an interest list, ask to be put on the list.

I would ask Greek Life if it's okay to email the recruitment chairs directly. If it is, I would drop a friendly email to the recruitment chair for the chapters that I was interested in and tell them that I am interested in attending any COB events that they hold.

I would not ask anyone why I was dropped. It's too awkward and anyone other than the recruitment chair and the alumna advisor for recruitment is unlikely to know. Most groups treat selection of members as confidential so they couldn't tell you anyway.

She should keep her head up and treat this as a glitch. If she's a quieter, laid back person, COB may be a better environment for her anyway.
