My daughter matriculated in 2010. She was a NMF and had a 32 ACT. She received the full tuition, and room and board scholarship which was better than our state flagship university. As far as I know, UA doesn't give anyone a meal plan scholarship. I think they out-source their food service, plus 30% of the campus eats at Greek housing, and most upperclassmen live off campus.
The Bama athletic dept funds many of the academic scholarships, and the aid is fabulous!! Only the University Fellows have a better scholarship at UA than the National Merit kids.
But those sorority bills!!! They are more than we would pay for in-state tuition.
