URI Recruitment dates

University of Rhode Island

Mandatory Orientation - Thursday, September 17th (7pm - 11pm) in Edwards Auditorium

Round 1 - Friday, September 18th (5pm - 11pm) & Saturday, September 19th (9am - 8pm)

Round 2 - Sunday, September 20th (10pm - 8pm)

Round 3 - Wednesday, September 23rd (6pm - 11pm) & Friday, September 25th (5pm - 11pm)

Preference Round - Saturday, September 26th (10am - 6pm)

Bid Day - Sunday, September 27th (5pm)

Last year URI had record recruitment enrollment, as well as record quota of 53. Right now campus total is around 141. This year's freshman class is also larger than last years. Could be an exciting year for URI!

Let's nope not.... I think that URI needs a year of steady numbers to catch up to the huge increase last year. As someone who was supervising recruitment there, the school definitely wasn't ready for last year's recruitment and needs to implement a few things on the behind the scenes end to run more efficiently....

I also advise there, and agree wholeheartedly that they were blindsided by the numbers. Trying to look at the positive side...there were years when almost half of the PNMs rushing at URI would drop before bids day. The enthusiasm for Greek life is refreshing. Also, the university has made it clear that class sizes themselves will plateau or decrease over the next few years, so it should level off.
