Hey all. I actually was offered and accepted a bid at one of the houses. It wasn't one I was really considering. The rumor mill says it's one of the bottom tier house on campus, but given my class standing I've decided to give it a shot and be open minded. Worst case scenario I'll drop before initiation, but I really hope I can find a place in the house I'm in. So far the sisters are lovely people and I'm very excited. Thanks for the advice.

I'd offer you congratulations; however, I'm annoyed with your "bottom tier" comment as well as your "one I was considering" remark, especially considering your class standing. IMO you are damned lucky you got a bid. Sorry. I think that the women in the chapter who extended you a bid deserve better than your half-hearted "worst case scenario" attitude.

I agree with everything AZTheta said. OP, you sound like an ungrateful brat. You are looking at these women to determine if they are "good enough" since they are "bottom tier" and all and you are willing to just drop out if you don't feel like it's a good fit. Some other lovely young lady could have taken your spot but, instead you have shared you are going in with a half-hearted attitude.

You seem about as excited as my cat Is to go to the vet.

This chapter sounds like they need people who appreciate them for their unique qualities and who want to help them grow - not people who are just there because any letters are better than no letters. If you can't adjust your attitude, it's best for them and for you to decline this bid.

ETA that it scares me that this is her post after it was edited.

You were very fortunate to get a bid as a senior. Congratulations! As long as you like the girls and feel at home there, the perceived tier of the house won't matter. Enjoy your new member period.

Agreed. I just re-read the title. I just realized she is a senior. Wow, she is really ungrateful. As a senior, she's lucky any chapter that isn't colonizing or recolonizing gave her a chance.
