OP, here's the bottom line: As a senior, the odds were stacked heavily against you. Most seniors receive no bids and are dropped early. So as a practical matter, you had no leverage to consider any house -- the leverage rested with the chapters. This is why a house "you were considering" is both erroneous and offensive. But you have a bid, and as a mature senior (versus a wet behind the ears freshman), I am sure that you will always put on a smile and be your most gracious self consistently at a minimum.
