If you weren't there and heard it second hand, then yes, it's a rumor.

^^^ LOL...that's the kind of rumor that falls into the classic category of a "system error" that explains "why I/my daughter/my legacy was not really cut from my/her favorite chapter."

Not being argumentative, but you do not know for sure if she had a rec. Seriously.

I vote for crazy recruitment rumor. And, hope for all involved it is!
This is my worst nightmare as a sleep deprived alum working the back room. Not sure is they use ICS or Campus Director, but either way it would be difficult to incorrectly move over 200 PNMs who happen to be your top list. I think at least one person with eyes on the process would catch it.

I bet that story goes around every year, just rotating which chapter is the one to have made the mistake.

Somewhere in Tuscaloosa, 200 girls are telling themselves this. I mean, clearly, it's the only logical explanation as to why they're not going back today.

My PNM has four invites including two of her early favorites. She is having a blast! I think two days per round allows for enough down time that she is getting some rest and relaxed socializing.

Oh I agree! I don't really believe that the well oiled machine that is Alabama recruitment wouldn't catch a mistake like this! I thought it was worth mentioning because this particular rumor seems to be running rampant right now. I even heard it from a current j board member (which shocked me). All I know for sure is one of my PNMs said there was a delay in the getting the schedules this morning... then I started hearing about this little gem.

I don't think that Bama would have started the parties if PH or Chi O had discovered something gravely wrong.

AZTheta - because I connected her with an alumna for every rec she received and she did not have a rec for one house.

You are discounting the fact that the chapter could have solicited a rec for her because they are interested in her!

AZTheta - as a result of her registration they would solicit a rec on her behalf? Not sure I understand.

Either that or after they met her first round they could solicit one. It is a fairly common practice.

But not so common that PNMs should pass on trying to get recs prior to recruitment
