Not really, not when in context she's talking about locals as opposed to nationals. But if that's how you read it, despite that fact that she had already mentioned Phi Mu, perhaps you could have simply asked whether she made a typo or was referring to an org you're not familiar with, rather than assuming she made a typo and giving a mini-lecture on how Phi Mu isn't smaller or lesser known.

Sometimes it just seems like folks are looking for anything to attack. It's not that big a deal.
