Just say you need to think about it! You don't have to give a reason.

I don't know that I wouldn't give a reason at all. That might be interpreted as, "I don't want it," by the chapter.

Question:

(I don't want to derail this thread, so answer only if you definitely know...)

I went through COB and was also given 24 hours to sign my bid. Is that a chapter, sorority, campus panhellenic, or NPC rule?

Goodness, ladies, there is always a proper way to decline an invitation.
Perfect!

And unless dues are publicly posted online, there's no way to know which is the more expensive. It's not the best reason but some people do choose one group over another because of dues.

I just said that she should tell them she needs to talk with her parents. I didn't say about what. That would be gauche. Seriously, one needs not air one's personal laundry. Just simply say - I need to check with my parents, I need to think it over, I need to pray about this, whatever vague polite comment will do.

Oh, that's not what I meant. I meant that XYZ might assume that she chose ABC because they're cheaper.

Today I got an email from the recruitment chair of Parks & Recreation, she said she wanted to come by today to "drop something off". About an hour and a half later, she showed up with the girl I had really clicked with at their bingo night and they offered me a bid as well as a really cute sunflower! I definitely accepted, I really clicked with these girls and love their sorority, so happy I finally found my sorority home!

And now, I finally get to tell you guys who Parks & Recreation is!
Drum roll please.........
