Whoa! I grew up in Pittsburgh (actually, Castle Shannon & Bethel Park), married a Chicago guy and live there now! My family is mostly deceased, though.

Hey!! I grew up in Pittsburgh area too. My dad is from Mt. Lebanon, and I used to love playing at this park that is literally a castle with all sorts of places to climb through, slides, monkey bars. it's the best but I can't remember where it was I just remember it wasn't my town so my dad took me there on weekends to let my mom have time alone at home cause it was a longish drive from our house. Thats so cool to see you're from there!!

Did you live in the Twin Hills section? There's a huge playground next to Dormont pool, next to Banksville Road. Castle Shannon's park is in the middle of the town, so you really have to want to go there, to play there! As an afterthought, the park was originally my gggrandparent's farm.

I'm a western PA girl myself. I grew up within an hour of the city but very much identify as a Pittsburgher.
