It is a wonderful and classic song but it is a boring song in certain environments. I would not want to hear it for New Year's Eve. Cee-Lo was doing okay until he started yelling. Goodness gracious. LOL.

As for people's responses to his change of the lyrics, I see their point and I see Cee-Lo's point. Beyond that, people just need something to fuss about on the Internet. "Happy New Year, bitchesssssssssss!!!!!!!"

I read this news story earlier today and had this reaction:

He could have done a better job with singing the song. Changing the lyrics a little didn't get to me. Seeing how the change was on purpose why not just pick a different song to sing if he didn't agree with the lyrics.
