I am doing something I haven't done in AGES, I'm having delivery Chinese food. I'm officially off the low carb diet and starting Weight Watchers this week seems kind of silly, so in the interim I think I'll just enjoy myself. One week won't kill me, right?
And I went to the liquor store, again something I haven't done in ages, so I believe I'll be having a lovely red California blend to go along with it.

For the first time in my life, I made pasta sauce from ingredients and not from opening a jar. So easy and so freaking worth it!
(don't judge me. Baby steps in the kitchen.)

There's nothing wrong with pasta sauce out of a jar, as a starting point. Adding fresh vegetables and herbs/spices will make a world of difference in just slightly more time than it takes to warm it up in the microwave.
And following up on my dinner, I am REALLY wishing I hadn't done that. I feel like I swallowed a lead balloon.

I completely agree with DS!! saute some onions & garlic in EVOO, throw them in with the jarred sauce with a healthy pour of red wine, a sprinkle of oregano, basil, fennel seed and simmer. No one will ever know the difference.
