Natürlich, aber "Gerda," "Gretchen," Gertrude," "Gerlinde," "Gertraude" . . . .

Es tut mir Leid! Gredericka?
I would like to say that even though I started this thread awhile back, the Austins and Destinys and rhymes-with-Aidens are still terrorizing our schools here and my kids know they should never name a kid any of those.

Ha! I did google the name, and found genealogical-type hits from the 1700s and early 1800s.

Interesting. I thought it was an original creation. I say this is one name that should not have been resurrected!

That's interesting!
My observations:
1. Frederica was one of the least popular names of 2012...so, Gredericka would probably be a stinker with most people, too.
2. Some of the unpopular names seem quite creative. Imagine trying to be unique and finding out that you'd chosen a non-unique "bad name" instead.

My mind is just boggled that even 5 people thought that Lucifer was a good idea for a boy's name.
