Don't forget also, that it's harder for a Junior with a 2.26 to raise her GPA without retaking classes than it is for a freshman with a 2.26 to raise her GPA without taking classes.
My advice would be to enjoy your study abroad. Even at non-competitive campuses, a Junior with a study abroad in the spring and a 2.26 GPA is not an attractive candidate. You'd basically have to be a triple legacy and bffs with the entire executive board plus 20 more members to get a bid, IF you're not below the GPA requirement.
