Legally, I don't see where that's relevant unless you want to argue that Martin maybe had cause to kill Zimmerman as well... hell, he definitely did. That's the insanity of the stand your ground law. Two folks who might be mistaken as to why they need to confront someone might both be justified in using deadly force.
If we had a duty to retreat as traditionally exists outside of ones home, then you don't ever get those situations.
