Do covers count?

Afroblue did a cover of Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together" that I love. MC's version is really meh and lacks depth.

On anothe note I feel like I'm SUPPOSED TO like the original "This Woman's Work" but the woman who sings it sounds really whiny.
