I know a few people at ASU. There has always been issues with the school not supporting the fraternities, such as them taking down the row. It really is a shame cause it forces the fraternities at such a big school to cope. At a campus like ASU it's understandable for them to rent out apartment complexes in bulk. That can only cause problems for local residents.

Just to make it clear, Since it's spelled out in the linked video but not in the title of the thread, ASU = Arizona State, not Appalachian State.

This incident at ASU is not due to the presence/absence of housing and University support for the fraternities. We have had similar issues at the UofA in recent years (you can Google it); and we have on-campus housing for all the sororities and many fraternities as well as a supportive University and powerful alumni.

No, not exactly. It hasn't been an "always" situation. Please do some research. Because it's been something that a few people you know say, in the very recent past/current time, doesn't make it an "always this way". No no no no no.

Let's see: it's already hot as hell in Phoenix. It's the end of the semester. Here's another article that gives more information.

ASU's main campus is land-locked, smack dab in the middle of Tempe, in the highly populated Phoenix metroplex. There are a lot of factors behind what happened. Don't blame the University administration or no housing for what happened. The fact is that, given the combination of factors, this could happen anywhere.
