1. How the hell do you not know your child's shoe size? it's your child.
2. Instead of trying to pretend you know how to deal with /discipline your child to save face, just get the nanny. Please.

Every time I'm shopping for my daughter, I have to ask her or my wife what size she wears. My wife does the same thing when shopping for our son. Between trying to keep up with how sizing for the opposite sex works and the fact that kids keep growing, I can easily imagine a parent not being sure about what size a child wears.

This. My daughter needs new shoes every two or three months. I can't keep up.

My son rips through a pair a month, so I know his size. My daughter usually makes hers last until she needs the next season and/or next size bigger, so I'm less likely to remember hers.

I worked at Foot Locker for a while. I can't tell you how many times I had this conversation:

Me: "Yes, ma'am, we have that shoe. What size do you need?" (btw - it is a shoe for the lady, not anyone else)
Lady: "I don't remember what size I need."
Me: measure feet; "Okay, ma'am, you need a size 7."
Lady: "That's impossible. All of my shoes are a size 5 1/2."

Seriously, this convo happened more times that I can remember.
