A TRIBUTE TO SIGMA
"In the beginning there were seven women
Of great esteem and pride,
They used their experience and education
With a lighted torch as their guide.
It was November of 1922
On the 12th day, and since then we grew,
An organization, Sigma Gamma Rho
Represented by gold and blue.
Of course there were other sororities
With missions and goals to share,
But what we have found in Sigma Gamma Rho
Leaves nothing else to compare.
In Sigma we work for each other,
Our communities, families, and youths,
In every endeavor, we strive for whatever
Brings progress, support, and truth.
Our goal is unselfish and dedicated
To make a better society,
Giving young people a chance at higher education,
And fulfillment that is undying.
It is for this reason we are a part
Of the "Last Created, Best Designed",
The Kappa Rho Chapter of
Sigma Gamma Rho
Flying high in the Sigma sky."
