Perhaps you should ask the women who suggested it to you in the first place. I'm guessing* they wouldn't have brought it up if they weren't amenable to sponsoring you in their organization's AI process.

*and by "guessing" I of course mean "hoping and praying."

Thank you all so much for the helpful information each and every one of you have provided, I truly appreciate it. I have already contacted the national office and got a response informing me my information will be forwarded to the National Vice President-Alumnae.

Hello, KD is one of the sororities the students of Coe College hope will express interest when our exploratory committee explores new chapters in the upcoming academic year. I'm doing post-BA work at my undergraduate institution and have been a member of the interest group that formed to hopefully become a colony. I will be present as a student for two more years and want to stay involved now and in the future. How does AI work? Would it be good for me? Would I stay involved with our college chapter? I'd love to be an alumnus at recruitment events in the future.

Any GC'ers members of KKD?

Hey Wannabe, I think you may mean KKG (or Kappa Kappa Gamma).

I went back to our college interest page and was originally right with KD as one of the sororities we are interested in. KKG was a sorority my friend was involved in at her college. Thank you for making me double check! I appreciate advice. AI is unfamiliar to me and I'm hoping AI may be possible if my college colonizes a new sorority as I've been committed to the group already.
