It makes no sense tho. I had to pay for college on my own, but when I hit 35 I get to crack open the trust. WTF? I'll have my own $$ then.

After you were 18, did your parents still use you as a tax writeoff? That's what I can't stand. A few of my friends have been financially independent since they started college, but their parents still want to benefit of having them as a dependent. that's bullshit to me. one of my friends' dad gave him part of his tax refund though because he knew he wasn't actually supporting him, so that was cool.
