I do watch all of those shows (I'm a sucker for female-centric sitcoms, what can I say?), but I’m not offended. I understand your point. The only thing I can think of is that GCB does have a pretty large cast, and more sets (homes, offices, the church, Cricket’s private plane!), so the budget must have been huge compared to any of the comedies. I guess it’s a cost-benefit thing. A show that’s cheaper to produce can “afford” to skate by on lower ratings for a little longer. But even then, sitcoms don’t get a free pass. Remember Better with You? Perfect Couples?
