Then yes, you can join another group at your new school.
Don't volunteer the information that you were pledging elsewhere, but if it comes up (i.e. if you are transferring to a school that pulls its students from a lot of the same areas as your present school) just say "I started pledging XYZ, but realized I would be transferring and didn't think it would be fair to the guys in XYZ for me to be initiated and then leave school. We are all still on good terms." This will be obvious if you're still Facebook friends with some of them, although I don't know if guys look at that stuff as much as girls.
If you run into a fraternity that gives you a black mark on this because XYZ at your new school is dorky or they don't like them or something, or because they feel you are "tainted," then they are stupid and not worth joining.
You did the right and respectful thing for all concerned. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise.
