What am I talking about? So, then what is your major? A 3.0 isn't that impressive and if it wasn't enough to go through rush at Bloomsburg University--then you need to worry about school and not going Greek. What I'm talking about is that some schools aren't known for being so challenging. If you aren't in a particularly challenging program and you can't even make the minimum GPA to rush then you should be more concerned about your grades and school.

yes a 3.0 isnt that impressive. but the rate of my improvement is and its getting higher. and it is enough to go through rush. (you need a 2.5). academics are ALWAYS number 1 for me. i AM more concerned about my grades and school. thats why ive improved so much.

I'm getting the feeling that academics aren't "ALWAYS number 1" for you. If you are a junior who is just NOW getting a 3.0 at Bloomsburg then what will happen when you get into harder classes your senior year? What do you plan on doing when you graduate? I'll be honest and say that if you came through rush at my house and you "just" made a 3.0 as a junior in the 2nd semester of her junior year--you wouldn't get a second look. You may have a hard time with many of the national/ international sororities. Greek life takes up a lot of your time. Maybe you should just join a club or something.

I hope and pray you are not majoring in anything related to my field. And as AnchoraAlumna said...In before the lock (though I'm sure my banter with the OP will help get this locked).

But you do realize that the longer you are in school, the harder it is to raise your GPA? And that the longer you wait to rush, the higher your GPA normally needs to be in order to get in? (And I am familiar with Bloomsburg as well.)

Dude. You realize that the more classes you take, the less each one matters? Or am I talking to a wall? I mean, I can have a 4.0 semester, but if I have a really crummy first couple of years, it's not going to matter much.

THIS is why I roll my eyes at some people who are just outside of college and are complaining that they can't find work. When I ask what they did in college, they say that they skated by with a 2.5gpa and they majored in something completely irrelevant. No shit, you won't find a job. There are plenty of qualified and hardworking people that have problems finding jobs, and if you think that not getting into the house you want is your big conundrum coming up, you are seriously misled.

AnotherKD, I couldn't have said it any better myself! I added my own piece to what you said. Thank you for really putting it out there. More students need to think about this. I also wanted to tell SWTXBelle that she made me when she posted her comment. Yep, GC is the site that keeps giving back....lol
