Let me chime in right here... I was born and reared in Mississippi, I am an openly gay man in a fraternity, in Mississippi (which is probably the most conservative state in the USA). Although I'm not at a SEC school now I was at Mississippi State (before I transferred). At State, I was openly gay and was offered a bid by several (4) fraternities.... Sigma Nu, Kappa Alpha, SAE and Sigma Chi. Also, I would not have been the first openly gay guy on frat row....in addition to who knows how many closeted guys.
So, alphatausc, please get off your high horse as you do not speak for everyone in the south and are simply spewing your own bigoted hate. Also, it's that type of hate that hurts your brothers, because maybe they're gay and aren't comfortable with their sexuality yet, or they're not simply because they hear that from you all the time.

Don't you know it never happened? He knows more than you do all the way over there in S. Carolina bc he just knows. Thanks for adding more confirmation to what has been SAI, "Every chapter is different. Some may not take a gay may, but some may have no problem at all...even at an SEC school."

Haha... yeah, I'm definitely glad that someone informed me that my experience never happened, otherwise I might have made the mistake of believing it. Now, I'm not saying they didn't have any ulterior motives... when I went through Rush I was one of a handful of independents on our Senate and also had like half of sorority row on speed dial. ... but, I consider that part of my contribution to the fraternity, plus I would never set a woman up with a douchebag.
