Yes! My chapter (Alpha) was closed for about ten years, and then was re-established from a local that wanted to go national. I didn't think it was that rare.

On a side note, one of the charter members of AGD'S Gamma Tau Chapter has a mother who pledged at the DePauw chapter. Jane was/is one of the coolest Province Director's I've ever met. (Glad that I've met several cool ones! )
