You know what really grinds my gears? (other than Lindsey Lohan of course)

"I can't find it in a store so I'm gonna buy it offline."

No, you're not. How hard is it to confuse online and offline? Fundamental opposites!

I hate that too haha

I also don't like when northeastern folks refer to standing "in line" as standing "online." I know it's not really "wrong," but it just seems so awkward to me.

Pinch black instead of pitch black.

If you're not sure, just say it's dark out.

Oh, and once at our office, we had a guy giving a demonstration of some software and he meant to say someone had given him the stink-eye, but instead said they'd given him the "stink finger". So I had to call him on it. Had to. My poor boss was trying not to laugh...

My boss dropped "wave of the future" about 20 times in yesterday's staff meeting.

I almost peed my pants.

This reminds me of the person who came to GC to ask about the difference between "online" and "inline" pledging.

When someone over the age of 16 uses the word "uber".

"OMG, I am "uber" excited!"...Grow up.

That's okay. I'm sure some words I use are annoying too. Everyone is guilty of this.

"Hey, lady"

As in when a co-worker is greeting you. The chick that sits next to me calls all the women lady. "Hey, lady!" "Thanks, lady", etc.

IT. DRIVES. ME. NUTS. I don't know why but it does...

When people cuss in a normal conversation. I mean, we all slip when we're mad, but to do it in normal conversation isn't necessary to get your point across. Two people I know from vet school were like that. Nice people, but terrible language.

Ex: "Dude, you're f_cking kidding me". or "That's the sh_t I'm talking about." or "Same sh_t different story." or when people say "Sh_tty". That really annoying.

Bumping this for CG lol

Someone asked me again recently and I laughed thinking about this thread.
