My brother was at Oracle Open world when the news came out, he said it was amazing how everyone started getting the news on their iPhones and then all the conversations were focused on Steve Jobs. Rest in Peace.

I saw that.

I just read that - Ol' Marge said it's because he didn't use his products to glorify God which is a strange reason but whatever. It's not about God with Westboro anyway, but about their own publicity and glory.

Well, at least they are out of Kansas for a few days.

Xidelt, I am sorry to hear this.
I told DH about it and he was shocked that Steve lasted that long with pancreatic cancer since it takes you pretty damn quick.

DH's mom lasted 15 months and we thought THAT was a long time (she opted NOT to have chemo or any treatment since it was pretty far advanced)

After he stepped down, I told my fiance that I wouldn't be surprised if he died within the month. I would have been okay being wrong about that.

This unfortunate consequence aside, rest in peace to Steve Jobs.

I generally don't like technology (the technology that I use is considered basic and boring LOL) but I appreciate what Jobs did for technology.

NPR was playing one of Jobs' speeches/lectures today. It was quite interesting but I stopped listening because the "I dropped out of the college early and then attended only the classes that interested me/I slept on friends' couches/I became a billionaire..." subtheme annoyed me after a while.
