We put each PNM's name on a piece of paper, and tape those pieces of paper - one at a time - to our rush chair's back. Then, she runs around the room while we throw darts at her. PNMs whose paper has been pierced by a dart receives a bid. This is one reason why it's important to have fast rush chairs - if they were slow, membership selection would take far too long.

We used the Hogwarts Sorting Hat. Each PNM would put the Hat on her head and it would shout out what sorority, if any, she belonged in. It took some tricky magic to get it to handle five houses instead of four and to get it to recognize that some PNMs are destined to be Muggles.

Being in PA, it made it easy for us to play Cow Chip Bingo. We spray painted all of the PNMs' names on a grid in a huge field. A few laxatives and a little patience led to some good times and the list of girls who made up the next pledge class.
