Congratulations FuturePNMMOM (you'll have to change your user name but as you can see - AXOmom is taken ). Like you I knew very little about greek life when my daughter decided to go through recruitment and even at a school with a much less competitive rush - it was nerve wracking, and I SO relieved when it ended. The good news is next year will be a breeze - for you. For her - not so much.

I read this forum A LOT (more than I post) because it's been a wonderful resource to me as I try to figure this part of her world. It helps to be able to hold a 1/2 way intelligent conversation with her about something that's become a big part of her life, so I would encourage you to stick around and read, read, read.

My daughter also loved her AXO chapter from the start. It's been a great organization for her, and she's learned a lot over the past two years. I trust the same will be true for your daughter.

She's joining an organization with a strong sisterhood and rich history! I'd love to hear how she is enjoying her time!
Congrats again to you and your daughter! <3

Your first sentence is correct. The second one is not. Quota has nothing to do with COR/COB. It's dependent on whether or not they are at TOTAL.
So if they took quota, which they all did, but are not at total, they can COR/COB. I have no idea which groups are at total.

wareagle, your best bet would be to check back with the auburn panhellenic office for cob opportunities and register with them for open recruitment opportunities. even if nothing materializes this semester, there may be a lot of seniors graduating in december which will allow some chapters to cob when everyone returns in the spring.

congratulations on the new alpha gam, auburnmom85!

My bad - I did mean total, and have fixed the post.

Popping in to say "war eagle" (not sure what that means but think it's like "bear down") and I'm thrilled for the New Member classes of all groups at Auburn. I wish a lifetime of membership and memories to all these young women.

I'm going absent with leave now, UofA's recruitment starts Tuesday morning and runs through Sunday (bid day). I've been at the chapter so much this past week, I think I should have a bed there.

I know! I am very excited to make that change and I have been thinking about what would be a good long term name. Obviously, I wasn't thinking long term last year. AXO will definitely be a part of that name. I am so hooked on this site that I will definitely be around for a long time.

I have tried to figure out how to change a name without making a whole new identity, but I dont' know how yet.

"Bear Down, Chicago Bears!" (The Bears fight song) The first pre-season game was Saturday and Saturday night everyone was running around with hats and jerseys, and getting drunk. Life in Chicago is not always sane.

thanks barbino. i trekked thru the parking lot on a crisp, sunday morning during football season at the chicago bear's stadium. tons and tons of fans grilling brauts made me wish i could join in the tailgating and then cheering on the bears.

Just got back from Auburn -helping my daughter move to a new apartment in the midst of recruitment. Bid day was a zoo at the rugby field -I got there 20 minutes in advance and could not get anywhere near. Aubie was adorable, arriving in the golf cart with the bids! I will try to upload some pictures in the next few days. My daughter is excited about the new pledge class at Theta because it means she might get another little - her little this year was such fun! She is also hoping for a grandlittle! She already has her kite pal who is gorgeous! Congratulations to all the girls of the freshman class at Auburn, whether in a sorority or not. Also my daughter says that COB is alot more common than she thought it would be - her roommate from her freshman year was picked up in COB (after trashing sororities when she first got there) and a friend of hers last spring was picked up as a sophomore in COB. Stay friends with the girls you met during recruitment and you might be surprised.
