"Bear Down, Chicago Bears!" (The Bears fight song) The first pre-season game was Saturday and Saturday night everyone was running around with hats and jerseys, and getting drunk. Life in Chicago is not always sane.
Had to pop back in to offer an explanation along with a shared giggle, because when I first heard it I thought "what? WHAT? what does that have to do with beating another team?" It's a bittersweet story; there's a statue (a bust, actually) of John "Button" Salmon outside the football stadium. And there is a wildcat family statue that my dogs try to attack every time we're on the Mall.
