So how do they see something that is covered and tell that it's a gun from a distance? This sounds like a false alarm for a nonevent.
And it is not illegal to carry a weapon on VT campus, as long as you don't carry into a building. Students may face discipline, but only under campus regulations, not under law.

I think on this campus, ANYONE with a gun would be STUPID. They probably didn't want to take any chances. Too many crazies and too many copycats. Better to be safe than sorry.
