IF you go through recruitment, I would not mention that you went through at your old school. Don't even bring it up. It will probably only hurt you and you didn't initiate so it doesn't really matter.
Now, onto your GPA. I would be surprised if you are even allowed to register for recruitment with a .8. Even if you do, I can say with almost absolute certainty that you will not receive a bid. You just won't, I'm sorry, your GPA is too low.
Now, in terms of your new school, how many credits do you have? How many credits constitutes a sophomore standing and how many credits is the average class?
