This reminds me of the ep of
Designing Women where Eugenia Weeks, one of Suzanne's old pageant rivals, comes out, and "not at a cotillion," as Julia says. The girls agree to meet Eugenia at a restaurant called "Uncle Gertrude's," where Mary Jo freaks out and asks Julia to pretend to be her girlfriend.
