Your all-time favorite sitcom episodes

I stole this topic from another forum I frequent—here are some my faves (and yes, I'm dating myself with some of these :D) ...

I Love Lucy: Vitameatavegamin

All in the Family: Edith causes a freak car accident with a can of cling peaches ... in heavy syrup

Mary Tyler Moore: Chuckles the Clown's funeral—"A little song, a little dance, a little seltzer down your pants"

The Golden Girls: The girls crash a high school reunion as Susan Armstrong, Cindy Lou Peeples, and Kim Fung Toy

Designing Women: Anthony goes undercover as "Cindy Birdsong" to rescue the girls from a grueling wilderness weekend

Roseanne: The weed episode

Frasier: The ski weekend

Absolutely Fabulous: "Fat," "Hospital," and "Poor"

Curb Your Enthusiasm: An obituary has "beloved aunt" misprinted as "beloved c_nt"

Mary Tyler Moore: Chuckles's funeral - Mary is trying desperately not to laugh.

Roseanne: Darlene reads her poem "The Brain-Dead Poets Society" episode.

Dharma & Greg: "Dharma Drags Edward Out of Retirement" episode - Dharma gets Edward involved in an dotcom company that sells women's clothes. For men. To wear.

Newsradio: Dave & Bill attempt to give up coffee and smoking. "What we need around here is an anti-whining ordinance!"

Coupling: "Jane and the Truth Snake" - Sally's reaction to "Jake the Snake"

knight_shadow 07-14-2011 12:45 AM

Martin - Suspicious Minds. The 3rd act (Martin and his "dog") are hilarious. The others tried so hard not to laugh.

Golden Girls - The Case Of The Libertine Belle. The "Murder Mystery" episode. I crack up every time Dorothy demonstrates slitting a throat.

King Of Queens - Pole Dancing Episode. Doug convinces Carrie to take a pole dancing class at the gym, but she ends up being terrible. Hearing how her father is affected and watching Doug pole dance = hilarious.

Law and Order: SVU - 911 Episode. Olivia tries to find an abused young girl who is speaking on a dying cell phone that can't be traced. Amazing.

This is all I can think of right now lol

The Dick Van Dyke Show: Rob dreams Laura is an alien

A Different World: Dwayne and Whitley's wedding

Living Single: TLC guest stars as the subjects of Overton's dreams

The Cosby Show: Vanessa gets drunk for the first time and the whole family ends up taking "shots."

Grey's Anatomy(not technically a sitcom but still): Gosh, you name it and I loved it. The bomb episode, the shooting, Meredith getting her appendix out...Meredith on morphine was epic. "It wasn't a date so much as a disasterously uncomfortable sexual experience.....Dr. Bailey, all my boyfriends are here!" :p

Meant to include this one in my OP:

Everybody Loves Raymond: Marie takes up sculpture and makes something that looks like a large-scale rendering of the female nether regions.

"Oh my God—I'm a lesbian!"

YES YES YES! Oh, how I loved that episode.

Ally McBeal: The Christmas episode when Larry sings, lets down his guard, and talks about his child... it makes me tear up a bit.

Seinfeld: When George's wires get crossed with a girl named Donna Chang, his mom talks to her for a bit and is talked out of a divorce because she's Chinese, and, well, Chinese people are wise. They flip when they find out she's just a white Jewish girl from Queens that changed her name from something like Changstein.

Modern Family: When Claire and Phil roleplay at a hotel bar.

Fawlty Towers: The Germans.

Father Ted: When they go on holiday in a caravan, but leave all of the stuff they packed behind by mistake. Graham Norton has a cameo in that one, and him singing "The Whole of the Moon" is classic.

I was also on a tv show (a half hour, you could say I was the main person in it), so I love that one. ;) But I won't say what it is in the open- too much identifying information, ya know? :) But that one is definitely a favorite of mine.

Agreed. That's the first SVU episode I ever saw and it has remained my absolute favorite.

I love all of these, and I can still hear Edith emphasizing the heavy syrup. And the car belonged to a priest.

The Andy Griffith Show: "The Beauty Contest." Andy gets to judge a beauty pageant for the annual Mayberry Founder's Day celebration.
Henrietta Swanson: She's been going to Mrs. Wellington's School for Girls in Raleigh. She was voted young lady most likely to become charming.
Andy: Well, say now. Becoming charming - that is something to look forward to, ain't it.
The Andy Griffith Show: "Citizen's Arrest." After getting pulled by Barney for making an illegal U-turn, Gomer accuses Barney of making an illegal U-turn.
Andy: What's goin' on?
Barney: Oh, this boob, here...
Gomer: Boob? Why that's an insult in the face of the public. There oughta be a number law that covers that.
Andy: Barney you can't insult people in public, you've got to set an example. Now what happened?
Barney: Oh nutsy come running after me screaming (imitating Gomer) Citizen's Arrest!, Citizen's Arrest!
Shoot, I could fill this thread just with favorite Andy Griffith episodes -- the Two Fun Girls from Mount Pilot, the Darlings and Ernest T. Bass, Ffloyd the barber . . . .

Munchkin03 07-14-2011 02:07 PM

Friends - The One with the Prom Video

The "Gordon Gartrelle" episode of The Cosby Show, when Denise makes Theo the shirt and it looks so busted! :D

FSUZeta 07-14-2011 02:20 PM

oh heavens, mysticcat, how ever could i forget the 2 fun girls, the darlings or "it's me, it's me, it's ernest t.".

My favor-rite ernest t. episode is when he goes to school to complete his education so he can marry his romena(rowena). i take that back, it is when he tells andy and barney that he was engaged once to Hog (i forgot the last name)'s daughter, Hogette, but he heaved a rock at her to show his love one time and it hit her in the haid, and she ran off with the taxidermist what sewed up her haid.
