Yeah, but generally I try to stay out of the "hot topics".

I would have to say that this sidetrack that started because I was asked a question about quota additions does not seem very friendly to me. I am not saying my GLO because I want to be impartial, and because I can not help new members with rec letters or information specific to my current school at this time.

But there - my sorority - and I know it is not the only one - has provisions for the chapter or executive offices to help an initiated member that loses her father or her house in a fire and cannot pay her dues. They can also set up a promise note or a payment plan if dues cannot be paid all at once.

I cannot believe that no AOPi chapter anywhere would let a sister pay dues late or help a sister in real financial need. I know they have financial need-based scholarships available - it is on their website.

Peace out y'all

Well, to quote one of my favorite movies, it ain't a-workin'. Withholding that information doesn't make you seem any more impartial. It just makes you seem less credible.

Then don't. But that's a very lame excuse.

If you're only 'impartial' by hiding your school/affiliation, you're not actually impartial, so pretending to be is dumb.
And the way you don't write recs is by saying "I won't write recs." It's really easy.

Just taking a moment to point out the casual assumption that daddy's making the money in the family. I realize this wasn't your point, but that was the assumption you made when typing that.

Who are you? Who who, who who?

For the life of me I cannot understand those posters who refuse to give their credentials but want to be regarded as being knowledgeable.

You cannot have it both ways. Yes, you can post using your screen name (I certainly do) and be anonymous. If you wish to weigh in on a subject you need to be prepared to establish your bona fides. Otherwise, don't act all "OMG YOU MEANIES WON'T ACCEPT MY RANDOM ANONYMOUS ADVICE I'MA GONNA GET ALL FLOUNCY AND TELL YOU I HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO!"

Or do it. But remember Newton's 3rd Law of Motion - For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

eta - Do bear in mind that if you lie about your college, your GLO, etc., odds are GC sleuths WILL find out.

Well we know you aren't an AOII! You know good and well you weren't talking about just paying late dues. AOII provides scholarships for SCHOOL not for dues. These are given out once a year, so reading our website and proclaiming that "AOPi gives our scholarships that will cover dues for sisters with financial hardships" is ludicrous. Good try, though.

Since HQWest randomly claimed to appreciate my posts before flouncing:

The funniest thing is that GLO membership is the most basic Greekchat info. The NPCers aren't asking for the specific chapter of initiation and year to be posted (at least not on the public board). HQWest choosing to rant without typing the basic info--that should have been divulged when she/he decided to register and go from lurker to poster--is quite amusing.

Therefore, I take this time to not divulge my own GLO membership. From now on you all will not know which GLO I am in. It could be a fraternity or sorority; any council or conference. Forget all that you thought you knew before. Read my posts and assume I am all knowing like Chuck Norris.

*POOF!!!!*

LOL. I have to go with Fleetwood Mac. All good choices, though.
