I guess I'm still asking that after what you wrote. Other than being women only, what makes the group you're describing any different from the
many historic preservation groups out there?
Obviously, I agree that a shared passion (say, for music) can be an integral part of a strong brotherhood or sisterhood, but Xidelt is right -- the best starting place for a fraternity or sorority is the desire for brotherhood or sisterhood, not to support a specific philanthropy.*
* Reminded once again how the emphasis fraternity and sorority philanthropies is a relatively recent thing.
