LOL. Too bad they're making the exact opposite impression (geek who doesn't know how to dress and has to rely on the company to get him appropriate clothes).

You've seen CMU grads when they get together, right? It's the nerd equivalent of a yellow ferrari.

^^^^hahahahahahaha. Things I do not miss seeing having moved further east.

I've got another one. If you characterize Dave & Buster's as "fun," you ain't even getting a first date.

See and I love Dave & Buster's. Best first date I ever had, we went to GameWorks (now closed).

Bad sign is when he brings his 15 year old son with him. And son has a Mohawk. And son is a former, very aggressive, patient. Very bad sign.

We have a local place called Games N'at that has air hockey, candlepin bowling, old school arcade games. And an amazing jukebox full of 45s. THAT would be fun to me.

D & B here is just...ugggg...a jorts & bloatee fest.

I have to admit, I've never been to D & B but always thought it was like Game Works. Game Works had the old school arcade games plus the race car, motorcycle race, boat race kind of games with seats that actually moved when you played them. They had DDR booths and stuff like that. Plus the great video games like Centipede and Frogger. And a bar.

I have yet to go to a D&B (I think the closest one is 2 hours away) but if it is like the commercials, it is pretty much my idea of heaven. I am all about a Chuck E Cheese for adults.

Bad first date for me: repeated name dropping, obvious attempts to make sure the flashy name brand watch was visible at all times, surprise when I ordered steak. Not my scene.

Ok, I gotta say that I worked at D&B right out of high school and it's really not that bad of a place AND it's more high-end than GameWorks.

It's just too corporate for me. The people who geek over D & B's are the same people who want to go for "good Italian food" at Bravo - when we have a section of town literally called "Little Italy" with a TON of Italian places that have better food and lower prices.

Speak for yourself, I will continue to geek out over an adult Chuck E Cheese and that has no effect whatsoever on my ability to choose a decent restaurant. (I'm assuming Bravo is something like Olive Garden...which for the record might not be real Italian, but it is real good...I like food too much to be a snob about it. Also, I am really, really hungry right now. This is making it worse.)

Yes, but more bland and more expensive than OG.

During a first date last week, at the end of dinner and before the check comes, he asks,

"Hey, you wanna split this?"

I replied, "Sure!"

I feel like it is the man's responsibility to pay for dinner during the first date. After a few more then it can be split evenly; I don't even mind taking the bill if it's a place that I recommend. This wasn't an expensive dinner, either--it was Mexican. If you can't afford to do that, then just limit the first date to drinks or coffee.

Needless to say, I deleted his contact information from my phone the next day.
