They have two brain cells to rub together.
As an aside, the Chicago police are "keeping an eye on religious institutions." That better mean they're watching them in order to protect them, but I doubt it. Awesome.

They must have the only brains left in America. Lord knows that everyone else is farting and partying as though there's not a care in the world.

I know I'm catching up on this discussion, but

Completely irrelevant. The Commander-in-Chief gets to take the credit and has to accept the blame, especially in a case like this when he was certainly directly making final decisions. I have no problem with that, regardless of who the Commander-in-Chief is.

I do not know that at all, though my strong suspicion is that you're wrong. I, who was no fan of W's, would have given him credit, just as I and many others who otherwise didn't like him did for his actions after 9/11.

The celebrations were way too much. I get that people are happy that heīs gone, but the pictures that have surfaced from celebrations (champagne bottles? really?) unnerved me. Also, most of the people celebrating in the streets looked young, I donīt think many of them even really knew more than; He was a bad guy, 9/11 - heīs dead.
How many of them did really think about Osama the past years?
Along with the "USA! USA! USA!" chants which always make me uneasy it was just tasteless to celebrate this way. Iīm not saying that people shouldnīt feel relieved or feel like justice was served, but it just conveys a certain image to the rest of the world (and not just terrorists, but the whole world.)
Most of the world thinks the U.S is full of ignorant people that donīt stop to think about what theyīre doing anyway, and I donīt believe that pictures like the ones we all saw will help.

So you're against celebrating the death of some a-hole who planned the murder of over 3,000 innocent folks? This is someone many of us have an emotional investment in seeing ended due to our belief in just retribution. It's nice to get out and celebrate being an American, showing these ****ers that essentially, when you mess with the bull, you get the horns.
There likely would have been celebrations in Europe as well if it hadn't been 6, 7 or whatever in the A.M.
In short, 'merica.

^^^This. I had a planned meet up with my bestie in NYC (half way point for both of us as I'm in Boston & she's in DC). Last week, I was excited about finding a $9 plane tix to EWR just outside of the city...Today not so much. Hell, I'm not thrilled about any of my other transportation options into NYC at this point.
I'm happy the deed was done, but if anything we all need to be even more vigiliant than we were yesterday.
