Personally, I don't think anything below a 3.0 is acceptable. If you're talking about sorority recruitment though, I think shooting for a minimum of 2.75 is better than a minimum of 2.5.

Our local IFC requires a 2.3 to rush. My org's HQ requires a 2.6 to be considered for membership. We require a 2.75 locally so I see what you mean. I was just wondering if we were going off the deep end by raising our minimum so far above the minimums that are already set.

A 3.0 would be nice, but I'm talking about fraternity recruitment. The sororities here used to curb stomp fraternities in GPA, but we have been catching up lately.

There isn't a terrible difference between a 2.6 and a 2.75 honestly. It's not like your main office wants only a 2.0 and you are setting it at 3.0.
