That's what's great about this thread - it's pretty much the antithesis of those threads.

It's me saying that I better see some more snarkage going on here or I'll be forced to bludgeon a newbie, start a race war, cause natural disasters on small island nations, or heaven forbid, actually get some work done.

Yes, I'm going to hell, but I'll hit the A/C on my way down for the rest of you heathens.

We'll have at least 2 more this year, I guarantee it. At least one in August. Usually earnest, about how we run off PNMs and crush their dreams or some shit.

I'm glad the first was started by a meanie.

(I mean that meanie comment seriously - God what a bitch.)

Well eff you...and your live-in, too.

(I still think of nanny or maid every time you say that. Every time.)

He is my nanny. Someone's gotta make sure I eat regularly and/or pee on the potty.

Skip the A/C and get a convertible. The scenery is great, for sure!

Who needs to attack Libya? I think we have World War III a-happening here. Much more about world politics that are relevant.

Really?

Didn't a good number of years pass between his stuff and the time we actually realized who it was? I don't think he drove any more people from GC than say, Tom Earp did.

I mean once we found out who Prunetacos was (and it was only a year or so between his posts and when his identity was uncovered). A few regulars left shortly after that. It freaked people out too much.

Are you sure? I thought it was about 2 years--not a super long time, as in he was gushing about KKG at the same time he was sending anthrax, but long enough that he wasn't a memorable character like Earp or Hoosier.

If anything, Hoosier creeped me out more than prunetacos.

It freaked people out that the Anthrax Killer had been conversing with the regs on GC, especially given his history of online stalking, apparently. I think it was too much scary reality for a few people, a reminder that you never know who could be lurking behind a screenname. His topics of conversation were more annoying than scary, but it was creepy to have interacted with him at all. Throw in the whole "FBI is watching us and could be investigating all of us omgwtfbbq" and I know it was enough to turn away some people. I know this because I exchanged PMs with a few people during that time, and they left the site shortly thereafter.

ETA: I don't remember Hoosier. Annoying, or creepy?

Be careful. Say his name one more time and he might appear...
