This: I will remember, in the future, to clarify or level the playing field when entering a discussion. Honestly had no idea there was such a discrepancy in eligibility requirements or definition of "with honors." My bad for not asking for a clarification. Fell into the old trap of only applying my own knowledge to a situation, without investigating.
Am still curious as to the honors distinction, based on GPA, but bottom line: the OP is getting good advice on how to prepare for upcoming recruitment, so back to the original topic I will go.
