Many of the people I've seen with similar features identify as "Greek/Spanish/Portuguese/Black/whatever and white," so it made me wonder if she had a very prominent "other" in her background.
I think I just did a poor job of explaining what I was thinking. I realize that being white doesn't mean you won't look a certain way.

Sorry but this explanation is even stranger than the first post. LOL.
Greek, Spanish, and Portuguese are "white" ethnicities. Are these ethnicities the "other" that you are talking about? Why would they be an "other?" Someone who racially identifies as white is not void of an ethnic background regardless of whether they know or divulge their ethnic background.
So, are you really just wondering what her specific ethnic background is without assuming that it is a "nonwhite" ethnicity?

Basically. More of an "I wonder" thing than a "She must be mixed because she looks like that"

*sigh of relief*
ETA: I read that her father has an Italian background and read somewhere else that Elizabeth Taylor's ethnic background is "Welsh, Irish, English, Swiss, and Dutch." I don't know how accurate that is but it may explain the "dark features" (including dark hair) that some consider exotic. Makeup can explain the rest.

It's the Welsh probably as much as the Italian.

DrPhil -
One of my friends is friends with a Houston-based model, and her FB page shows what I was trying to explain.

(note -- she is a bikini model, so don't click if you don't want to see the 4 pictures of her showcasing that)

Completely off topic but funny nevertheless, most of y'all know that I have cousins who are mixed black and white. Most of them are light skinned, as their black side was very light to begin with. My first cousin named her children AA names, as she identified with being black more than white, and didn't want her kids going through the same struggle she did.
At my mother's viewing, I introduced my now-husband to my cousin, Ebony. She is very beautiful, with black hair and grey eyes. When we got back to my house, DH said, "I don't think I've ever met a white woman named Ebony." I replied, "You still haven't."
I still don't know who had the funniest reaction, DH's, or Ebony & her mother!
