Dumb question. Why aren't Asian students who live in, say, Pennsylvania going to Pitt or Bucknell or Penn instead of going all the way out to UCLA? If that's what you mean.

Anyone who talks on their cell in the library regardless of race, gender or anything else should get tossed out.

I'm totally with you on the talking on the cell phone in the library. Last week I was at my local public library picking up a book at the main desk. A woman was talking on her phone inside one of the glassed in "quiet" rooms with the door open at least 100 feet away from that desk, and we all got the full blast of her "private" conversation. I didn't notice what race she was. It was just damn annoying. We need to reinstate phone booths just so annoying people have somewhere to go with their cell phones.

Sometimes you've gotta fight fire with fire (i.e. meet rude behavior with more rude behavior) - I might have barked, "WOULD YOU CLOSE THE DOOR" loudly as I was slamming the door closed...ha ha ha ha!!!
