i was initiated with my grandmother's all pearl badge. when my cousin got initiated, i passed it on to her, and got my own all pearl badge. my chapter didn't give us a choice for some reason so i also have the scroll edge badge.
my family (biological ) all have the all pearl badge.

Yes, YG scroll edge was the first triangle badge. Pearled badges were approved in 1915 when we decided on a jewel. I don't know when other stones came about.

The current VPNME said she only gave the NMs a choice of gold gloss or sterling silver because she didn't want to overwhelm the NMs with the cost of a jeweled badge. Sounds kind of silly to not even TELL them about it. If they don't have the money or don't want to spend the money then fine, but at least tell them that it is an option.
I am the only one in my chapter to have a jeweled badge. My badge is WG, with pearls and amethyst points. We have a pearled badge that the president wears during her term, but everyone else has a gold gloss or SS scroll. When I joined, everyone before us had just gold scroll, but I told my pledge mom that I wanted a jeweled badge, so I got one. She made some sort of mistake ordering badges that the first half (alphabetically) of our pledge class got SS, so after that, the NMs got a choice of gold gloss or SS.

Now that I have this great job and we're definitely financially stable, I'm going to buy myself a new jeweled badge. I want a white gold badge with pearls and amethysts since the amethyst is my birthstone.

I got the yellow gold with pearl points, as did most of my pledge class. The pearl with garnet points was popular in my chapter, but my parents were paying for it and I knew they wouldn't spring for something fancier. If I had it to do over again, I would have gotten yellow gold with all pearls. I never wanted the garent points, because they ddn't mean anything.

For my 30th birthday, I got the white gold badge with alternating amethysts & pearls. I also got the matching chapter guard with all pearls. It's stunning and I adore it. The perfect 30th present.

I have the plain scroll edge pin. I would love, love a pretty jeweled older badge. I thought it would be amazing to have an alpha chapter badge, but I am wondering would there be ANY beta or gamma triangle badges? It would only be a three year window though, and they would have had to purchase a new badge since it wasn't an option when they initiated.

Now that I have the badge I want, I'm thinking something else. I want a few things to add to my Sigma Kappa jewelry collection. I'd really like the amethyst cushion ring in white gold. It's almost $300 though. Hmmm...how to convince the hubby. Anniversary gift? Christmas gift? Graduation gift?

Did any of your chapters utilize chapter guard pins?? No one in mine (Upsilon) has had one for years, but I think they are sweetly old-fashioned and I sorta want one!

My first badge is YG with pearl sides and garnet points. I was advising a collegiate chapter for awhile and bought a WG badge with pearl sides and amethyst points. Since then I have added a vintage badge from my chapter to my collection and it is all pearl. I have come across other GLO badges in antique stores, but no SK badges. Someday I would like to have a vintage scroll edge badge from my chapter. Some GLO national office sell older badges to members. Does anyone know if Sigma Kappa does this? Or what they do with old badges? I have sisters who have lost thiers through the years but don't want to buy a new one, they would prefer an older badge from our chapter instead.

^^ I have NO idea if we do that or not, somehow I missed your post, sorry for the late reply.
So my badge appears to be MIA and I have no urgent need for a replacement right now, but after I get moved out and back in my own place I'd like to order a new one (and finally get a pledge pin of my own too.)
How does the WG pearl with amethyst points look? I was under the impression we could also order custom stones, is that true?

I am not sure if we can do custom stones. I have not seen it as an option, but I have not called to ask either. I just picked up a badge from my chapter from 1930. I was so happy when I got it, I just love having a piece of history from my chapter. The engraving is so light that I can't read the name of the back. I went online to the For Sisters Only side to see if I could figure it out, but I couldn't.
I am looking to add another vintage badge, but it doesn't have to be from my chapter, so that I can permanently attach it to a badge holder pendant.
When we get a sunny day, I will attempt to take a photo of the amethyst white gold combination. Mine are alternating, not points.

I'd forgotten how expensive badges were though. Maybe a Christmas present for me this year
