You have no choice in whether it's a big deal to a chapter or not. That's up to the sororities and their private membership selection criteria. Some only give bids to 18 year old freshmen. There's nothing you can do to change their minds, which is why I gave you a plethora of "helpful ideas" in my earlier post. But somehow I feel like your definition of "helpful ideas" is some OMG SUPER SECRET FOR SURE WAY TO MAKE
ALL THE SORORITIES WANT YOU NO MATTER WHAT THEIR MEMBERSHIP SELECTION CRITERIA ARE BECAUSE YOU ARE A SUPER SPECIAL UNIQUE AND PERFECT SNOWFLAKE WHO EVERYONE SHOULD WANT.
It's simple:
-Have good grades
-Get recs to every chapter
-Look good
-Be personable and someone girls want to hang out with
-Have special interests, extra curriculars, be involved and enthusiastic
-Don't let a bad reputation precede you.
Those things will give you the best chance of find a chapter that you like who also likes you and is willing to look beyond your age and class standing.
