As an atheist (and as someone who did no research about greek life before joining), I was a little nervous when I realized a huge portion of my group's ritual is from the bible. In the end, I compromised by reciting the parts that had no overtly religious overtones (no "Christ", "God", "savior," "Him", "pray," "trust," etc) and stood silently through the rest. No one in the chapter had any issue with this, and I bet most members never noticed.
If you're that outspoken against religion/Christians (or, really, if you're outspoken/intolerant of ANY group of people) then a sorority might not be the best place for you, as there will probably be a mix of race, religion, upbringing, wealth, major, etc in your sorority.
