Live-in's dad keeps trying to give us a cat, because his girlfriend doesn't see the need to have her cats fixed.

I think we're getting away right now with A. We just bought a new couch and B. Our place is all on one level and litterboxes smell no matter how much you clean them.

I don't have to heart to tell him that I just really hate cats (live-in's dad has two in his house, too, one boy and one girl - the male is fixed but live-in's dad hasn't fixed the female because technically she's live-in's brother's cat so she's live-in's brother's responsibility).

Do you still have Lucky? You could try saying that he wouldn't get along with the cat or something.

Hush your face - we'll always have Lucky! He's going to live to be a hundred and two! Coincidentally, he's probably that old in dog years now, anyway.

Well, that was another concern - we actually talked about it for quite a bit because Live-in likes just about any kind of animal (although dogs are his favorite). He seemed to think that Lucky would adjust well to having a cat around.

I think if it wasn't a kitten we'd consider it again - Lucky likes to lay all around over the place and pretty much do cat things - a kitten likes to play. Given lucky's big fluffy tail that he loves to wag - kittens tend to like attacking his hind end.
