OK, when did these Baby Einstein videos come out/become popular? I had never heard of them until my niece was born ( 6 years ago). I'm assuming that children who learned via BE must of been born in the 90s.

I learned to read with Little Golden Books; I used to love reading Poky Little Puppy to my grandmother and little cousins

When I asked what they were, it just led to more mocking.

Yep, the Little Golden Books, Dr. Seuss, and the Berenstein Bears populated my childhood. We might not have need a remote for them, but we still had a good time.

I grew up on the little golden books! I loved the Berenstein Bears as well, only their politeness bugged me a little. My favorite book in second grade was "Green Eyes", about a cat with green eyes, lol. I borrowed it from the school library so often that they had to remind me to let others enjoy the book, too. As a kid, there was something so magical about reading, getting lost in the story. It makes me sad that kids don't seem as interested in reading anymore.

Happily, Barnes and Noble has reissued several of the Little Golden Books. I'm thrilled because our copies of several that I loved to read to our children are worn out, particularly "The Color Kittens"!

...and in all that brown, the sun went down...
